Environmental Studies Seminar Series

On Feb. 19, 2015 at 7PM in the Overby Center Auditorium, Reed Noss, professor of conservation biology at the University of Central Florida, will discuss Concepts and Themes of Modern Conservation: Can They Be Reconciled?

Professor Noss has more than 300 publications and is recognized as one of the 500 most highly cited authors in all fields worldwide. He has published seven books, the most recent being Forgotten Grasslands of the South: Natural History and Conservation (Island Press, 2013). He is currently writing about the fire ecology of Florida and the lower Southeastern Coastal Plain (University Press of Florida) and natural disturbance as a primary factor that structures ecosystems (Island Press).

The University of Mississippi Environmental Studies Seminar Series is presented by the Environmental Studies Minor, Department of Biology, and Office of Sustainability.
